Outlander‘s Grant O’Rourke Confirmed For ScotWeek’s MacBeth
PRESS RELEASE | 20.03.01
We are so very excited to announce that Outlander actor Grant O’Rourke will be joining the cast of ScotWeek’s dramatic reading production of MacBeth as MacDuff.
Grant has most graciously stepped into the role of MacDuff when ScotWeek board member and fellow Outlander actor Graham McTavish had to bow out due to a scheduling conflict.
Graham will be filming a new show for Netflix during ScotWeek and I hope you will all join me in wishing him our very best. Graham, you will be missed and we congratulate you with blessings from ScotWeek! We are very grateful to your support and all of your efforts on our behalf!
Cindi McIntosh-Behr | ScotWeek President
Ceud míle fáilte, Grant!
Grant O’Rourke is one of Scotland’s most acclaimed stage actors but is more widely known for his role as Rupert Mackenzie in the television series Outlander. Grant trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He has played Hamlet, Richard III, Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew, and has been a celebrated stalwart of the stage at the Royal Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh where he has appeared in more than a dozen productions including, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and The Venetian Twins.
He has won and been nominated for multiple awards for his stage work over the years but his most cherished accolade is a “Best Dad in the World” mug. Which, admittedly, he bought for himself but no one has contested it yet.
Grant is also a published artist, writer and musician.
