Jeff Garner Joins ScotWeek Board
NEWS | 20.03.05
ScotWeek is very proud to announce that top fashion designer Jeff Garner, owner of Prophetik Clothing, has joined our working board.
Jeff is quickly becoming an integral part of our success by spreading the word about ScotWeek’s exciting events and chatting us up to his sphere of influence, which includes some of today’s hottest celebrities. He’s also a really cool lad. 😉
In addition to his work as a board member, Jeff will be giving an exclusive fashion show featuring his “Women of the Crown” collection during ScotWeek’s Red Carpet Event to be held Saturday, September 26th at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica, CA. This is really exciting for us as the collection premiered at Edinburgh Castle and is made of Scottish textiles in collaboration with Historical Environment Scotland.
He is perhaps best known for his sustainable ’plant-dyed‘ red carpet gowns. Jeff takes his inspiration from the dressmakers of the Civil War period who worked with what was in front of them, fashioning beautiful gowns that were later taken apart to recreate new dresses – sustainability born out of necessity. With his company Prophetik, Jeff combines a dandyish, rock ’n’ roll aesthetic with a robust sustainable philosophy, never compromising his ethical principals or his style credentials.
So it’s natural that Jeff will also be speaking during the “Sustainability” panel at our one-day talks conference ScotCon. Environmental responsibility is near and dear to his heart and an ethic that Jeff puts into his work.
